Graduate Student Scholarships
Available for 2009-2010

The UCLA Faculty Women’s Club offers several graduate scholarships to men and women students (up to $2,500 each):
1) For graduate students who are direct descendants (children, step- and adopted children, grandchildren) of UCLA full-time, retired full-time, academic and/or administrative employees or Annual, Life or Golden members of the UCLA Faculty Women’s Club.
2) For a graduate student majoring in engineering and applied science.*
3) For a graduate student who is the spouse of a member of the UCLA faculty or administrative staff.**
4) For a graduate student who is
(a) majoring in scientific fields related, allied, or of value to the medical field or
(b) attending the David Geffen Medical School at UCLA.***
Students must have at least a 3.5 GPA to apply. Entering and continuing graduate students are encouraged to apply. For further information, contact Cherie Francis (cfrancis@gdnet.ucla.edu). Deadline to apply: July 14, 2009.

* The Russell & Sallie O'Neill Graduate Scholarship in Engineering & Applied Science
The Russell & Sallie O'Neill Graduate Scholarship in Engineering & Applied Science was established to provide $2,000/year (beginning with the 2008-09 year) for a total of five years to one graduate student per year who is studying within the Henry Samueli School of Engineering & Applied Science.
** The Fietta Wilkin Clendenin/FWC Memorial Scholarship
The Fietta Wilkin Clendenin/FWC Memorial Scholarship is for a student who is continuing or completing his or her education and is the spouse of a UCLA faculty or administrative staff member.
*** The Gertrude T. Huberty Warren Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of Dr. Gertrude Huberty Warren, FWC President 1949-50. Under her leadership, FWC created the first UCLA Employee Directory that was later adopted as a UCLA publication. Dr. Huberty, along with Dr. Donald MacKinnon, founded the first UCLA Student Health Department where she served for more than 28 years as the Assistant Director and Professor of Clinical Medicine at the UCLA School of Medicine. This scholarship of $2,500 honors an undergraduate or graduate student studying to enter the medical field as a researcher or physician.
